Maarit Murka (b. 1981) is one of the leading figures of Estonian photorealistic painting, with individual handwriting and respectable productivity. Attention and recognition have followed her paintings from the first exhibition, as by critics and the people. At that Murkas pervious documenting approach has during the last years made more space for the dislocating of the reality of space using hyper realistic means. Maarit Murka has studied painting in Estonian Art Academy and then in Helsinki Art Academy (master studies 2004-2006). See also www.murka.ee
